Wilmot includes New Hamburg, Baden and Petersburg, in Waterloo Region, with farmland, Mennonite heritage and a tech-sector economy next door in Kitchener-Waterloo. Commuters reach the cities in about 20 to 30 minutes, and Stratford is within easy reach. Buyers are families priced out of Toronto and tech workers.
The Nith River can flood parts of New Hamburg, so check floodplain mapping.
The township falls within the Kitchener-Cambridge-Waterloo area, which is the kind of census area the federal prohibition on non-Canadian purchases of homes targets until 1 January 2027, so most overseas buyers should assume the door is closed unless an exemption such as work-permit status applies. Ontario's 25% Non-Resident Speculation Tax would stack on top, and land transfer tax runs from 0.5% to 2.5%. Check with a lawyer before viewing.

Probably not without an exemption, because of the federal ban to 1 January 2027.
Ontario's 25% tax on foreign purchases.
It is further than Kitchener, around 1.5 to 2 hours.
A historic village with a Mennonite and German heritage in Waterloo Region.
Often a bit, but check each market.
