The city and its surroundings
Miramichi was formed by merging Chatham, Newcastle and other communities, and its centre is spread along the river. Local life revolves around healthcare, services, forestry and salmon fishing, and winters are cold and snowy. Moncton is the nearest big commercial centre, and flights and larger services are there rather than here.
Buyers are mostly local families, retirees and anglers. On the map, Moncton, Dieppe, Riverview and Shediac form the southeast New Brunswick cluster, Minto is another small New Brunswick market, and Summerside is across the strait on Prince Edward Island; none is next door.
